FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: procedure consists in rough cut of circle milling and finish cut of circle milling during mainly one complete turn of shaft without lengthwise line and tangent feeds of mill; also cross feed of mill during cutting has only one axial component relative to mill axis. In the procedure a metal cutting machine consists of a main spindle and counter-spindle, of a chuck for the shaft, of at least one cutter spindle rotating around axle A passing parallel to direction X; the said spindle is designed to travel and position in directions X, Y and Z; notably, on Y axis tool eccentricity is set at value e relative to main axis of shaft rotation; further the cutting machine consists of at least one work rest designed to travel along direction Z or immovable and containing at least one support for the shaft on one of its bearings; the counter spindle consists of a thrust centre, the second chuck and at least one measuring device designed to be positioned to record geometric actual parametres of processed surfaces.
