FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to sealing equipment. The flat sealing padding consists of a circular flexible element made out either of rubberised fabric or out of reinforced expanded graphite; also the padding consists of a plating shell made out of tape of porous poly-tetra-fluorine-ethylene wound around a circular flexible element. The method of fabrication of the flat sealing padding consists in the following: evenly rotating circular flexible element is subject to plating by means of winding it in many layers with the tape of porous poly-tetra-fluorine-ethylene while stretching the tape and partially overlapping each preceding turn. Simultaneously with plating the circular flexible element is pinched till coils of the tape of porous poly-tetra-fluorine-ethylene are connected between them, while uniform rotation of the circular flexible element is performed owing to the said pinching. The facility for fabrication of the flat sealing padding consists of a base and of a mechanism for pinching with a drive and a working element installed on the base, and of a device for winding circular flexible element with the tape out of porous poly-tetra-fluorine-ethylene.
EFFECT: increased reliability of sealing.
