FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: flange metal gasket is made in form of the toric ring created by rotation of the ellipse or polygon about axis in their plane and not crossing them. The toric ring contains diametrically located external and internal sealing surfaces interacting with the appropriate sealing surfaces of the ring chamber created by flanges of the detachable joint. On the sealing surfaces of the toric ring the depressions are made for plastic seal located on the sealing surfaces of the toric ring, and overlapping these depressions. Depressions for plastic seal are made in form of row of ring grooves successively adjoining each other. The plastic seal is made in form of the tape of porous PTFE or in form of the thermal expanded graphite.
EFFECT: improved characteristics.
