FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology and is intended for prophylaxis of secondary anterior capsular lenticular opacity after implantation of posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens. Before operation diametre of ciliary sulcus is determined in mm directly by means of ultrasonic biomicroscopy (UBM). Obtained value is rounded to value multiple of 0.5 mm. On ultrasonic image of anterior eye section conventional line is drawn, which corresponds to diametre of ciliary sulcus, distance on perpendicular from the middle of said line to anterior lens capsule is measured, thus determining lens protrusion with respect to ciliary sulcus in mcm. If value of lens projection is less than 800 mcm, rounded value of ciliary sulcus diametre is chosen when calculating PIOL dimensions. If value of lens projection is more than 800 mcm, value, which is 0.5 mm larger than rounded ciliary lens diametre, is chosen, when calculating PIOL dimensions.
EFFECT: method allows to determine ciliary sulcus diametre reliably by its direct visualisation, eliminate cases of implantation of posterior chamber PIOL with insufficient diametre, ensure absence of contact of posterior surface of posterior chamber PIOL with anterior lens capsule and reduce risk of development of central or paracentral anterior capsular lenticular opacity in post-operational period.
