METHOD OF SPUN CASTING OF LENGTHY THIN-WALL STEEL PIPES Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC B22D13/02

Abstract RU 2388575 C1

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry. Proposed method allows producing lengthy thin-wall pipes from various steels with diametre of 0.06-0.35 m, wall thickness of 0.006-0.020 m and length of up to 6.0 m. Proposed method comprises applying antistick paint with 0.0007 to 0.0015 m-layer thickness, onto steel mold inner surface heated with increasing temperature over its length at 200°C nearing casing end to 300°C at not casting end. Metal is poured at mass flow rate of 20 to 40 kg/s and temperature exceeding its Tpeak by 120 to 210 °C. Mould is rotated at the rate corresponding to gravity factor of 120-220 on ingot inner surface.

EFFECT: dense structure one pipe length and cross section with no defects and high physical and mechanical properties of metal.
