FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Proposed method of producing thick-walled centrifugally cast tubular billets operated under conditions of abrasive wear with diameter of 0.8-1.0 m and a wall thickness of 0.06-0.2 m comprises pouring metal into rotary mould and feeding metal powder therein. Zone of a columnar structure is formed in the billet, which is oriented perpendicular to the external surface of the billet, the length corresponding to the width of its wearable layer under operating conditions. This formation is carried out by feeding metal with temperature of 60-80 °C above the liquidus into a rotary mould coated from the inside with a zirconium-bentonite paint with a layer thickness of 0.002 m. Mould is rotated at a frequency corresponding to the gravitational coefficient of 115 along the inner diameter of the pipe billet, and the outer surface of the mould is cooled with water at rate of 3.2 m3/h by a sprayer method. Metal powder in amount of 1.8-2.2% of billet weight is fed into metal jet fed into rotary mould after 30-35% of time of metal pouring into rotary mould.
EFFECT: increasing the wear resistance of a tubular billet.
