FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to forensic medical examination. To find a spatial orientation of perforating gunshot wound tracts in forensic medical examination of aggrieved corpses, remoteness values of inlet and outlet gunshot wounds are measured from the soles and front and back midlines. The distance of the inlet gunshot wound centre to the nearest front or back midlines is measured. The distance of the inlet gunshot wound centre to the plantar surface level is measured. In addition the distance of said gunshot wound to the dorsal surface is measured. The distance of the inlet gunshot wound centre to a horizontal surface of an autopsy table is measured. Similarly the distances of the outlet gunshot wound centre are measured. Thereafter trigonometric functions are used to calculate the angles of wound tracts.
EFFECT: method provides more accurate finding of orientation of the perforating gunshot wound tract.
