METHOD FOR DETERMINING NATURE OF INJURY IN CASE OF GUNSHOT WOUND Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B5/117 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to forensic medicine, and can be used for determining input or output nature of gunshot injury. Presence of "morphological signs of nature of injury" according to table 1 of the description. At first step, when at least one of signs is detected: when injured through clothes - X₁, X₂, X₄-X₁₀, X₁₄, X₁₇, X₂₂, X₂₄, X₂₇-X₃₃, X₃₈, X₄₀-X₄₄, X₄₇-X₅₀, X₅₂; when open body area is injured - X₂₁, X₂₂, X₂₄-X₃₃, X₃₈, X₄₀, X₄₁, X₄₃, X₄₄, X₄₇-X₅₀ injury is considered "input". When at least one of signs is detected: when injured through clothes - X₁₈, X₂₀, X₄₅, X₄₆, X₅₁; when open body area is injured - X₄₅, X₄₆, X₅₁ injury is considered "output". If signs X₁, X₂, X₄-X₁₀, X₁₄, X₁₇, X₁₈, X₂₀-X₂₂, X₂₄-X₃₃, X₃₈, X₄₀-X₄₄, X₄₇-X₅₁ are not detected, second step of analysis of signs X₁-X₅₅ is performed, by using mathematical methods: bayes sequential procedure, total discriminatory analysis and binary logistic regression. As a result one of two states is determined: input or output injury. Conclusion about the nature of injury is made based on the result of determining of one of two said states, obtained by at least two said mathematical methods.

EFFECT: method provides simple and objective determining output and input nature of gunshot injury by assessing the complex of the most significant morphological signs of injury and using mathematical methods.
