FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal processing and may be used to install stock of drill bit legs in process of their mechanical treatment on metal cutting machines. Method for installation of drill bit leg having double-face angle, in one of planes of which there is a dead cylindrical process hole arranged as perpendicular to specified plane, includes positioning of leg stock by planes of double-face angle on inclined prism with exclusion of five freedom extents and on basing element. Axis of above-mentioned element is matched with axis of process hole, with elimination of sixth extent of leg stock freedom, providing for the possibility of its displacement along plane of double-face angle symmetry. Basing element of leg is arranged in the form of rhombic collet finger and expansion cone, which is spring-loaded relative to collet finger in axial direction by means of wound spring, and in radial direction - by means of plate springs installed in grooves of expansion cone. Plane of collet finger rhomb symmetry is installed parallel to plane of symmetry of double-face angle of stock. Stock of leg is fixed by force directed along normal line to leg back, which is transferred by flat bottom of process hole to expansion cone.
