FIELD: metal machining, particularly for drilling bit leg production.
SUBSTANCE: leg machining device comprises base to be installed on machine spindle and having lid rigidly secured in upper part thereof. Insert is movably connected to concave arch-shaped surface inside lid and has mating arch-shaped convex surface. The convex surface includes dihedral prism with limiting basic pin on one face thereof. The prism is adapted to install and secure drilling bit leg blank on the dihedral member with the use of pressing rocking arm and power rod. Concave lid surface and corresponding insert surface are spherical and provide simultaneous drilling bit leg axle and machine spindle adjustment by rotation thereof about every spatial coordinate X, Y, Z to bring leg axle axis in register with that of the spindle. Insert stops are made as pins with washers and nuts and provide rigid blank fixation during leg axle machining.
EFFECT: increased productivity due to decreased time of leg axle axis alignment with spindle axis.
