FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of starch products. The method involves continuously feeding a stream of starch substrate or a stream of starch substrate and one or more reagents and a gas stream in the opposite direction into a reactor which has a tubular housing and a rotating shaft with several blades or one helical blade along the shaft. The starch substrate has moisture from 0 to 45 wt %. The process is carried out for 1-60 minutes at 50-220°C. The housing of the reactor has at least two inlets, one of which is for inlet of starch substrate of starch substrate with one or more reagents, and the other for gas inlet. The inlets are arranged such that, the starch substrate or gas enter the reactor in the opposite direction. The method of modifying starch to obtain a product with high solubility involves using one or more reagents selected from mineral acid, peroxide and an oxidising agent and a gas stream, where the starch substrate and the agents are fed into the reactor in the opposite direction to the gas stream. The initial starch substrate has moisture from 1 to 30 wt % and the process is carried out for 2-45 minutes while heating to 80-220°C.
EFFECT: more efficient process of modifying starch or its derivative and simplification of the method.
