FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to use of starch derivatives. Disclosed is use of starch derivatives as an additive in UV-curable compositions for coating steel and glass panels. Starch derivative is partially acetylated and partially acylated with at least one fatty acid. At least one fatty acid is selected from a group comprising C12-C18 fatty acids, where the fatty acids can be unsaturated or saturated fatty acids. MW of starch derivative ranges from 3,000 to 50,000 g/mol. Also disclosed are a starch derivative, a UV-curable coating of steel and glass panels, containing said starch derivative in amount of 3–35 wt. %, and an electronic element with said coating.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing hardness and protection from moisture of coatings, in particular, electronic elements containing said starch derivative.
