FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a process for the liquefaction of starch present in a starch slurry. Method comprises a step of preparing in a reactor a preliminary dilution product with solids content of 25 to 45 % w/w. Starch is then added to the reactor containing the pre-dilution product at a temperature of 20 to 85 °C to obtain a second starch slurry. Second starch slurry has solids content of 30 to 80 % w/w. Further, part of the second starch slurry is removed from the reactor and sent to the liquefaction stage, and the removed portion is replaced with starch to maintain solids content of 30 to 80 % w/w in the second starch slurry in the reactor. Initial starch slurry has a DE value of 0.05 to 9 and contains split starch.
EFFECT: invention enables to realise an effective method of liquefying starch during preparation of a starch slurry in a continuous production cycle mode and with an optimum energy capacity.
