FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to procedures of applying metal coating on internal surface of long-length pipes by vacuum sputtering metals in magnetic field. The procedure consists in coaxial arrangement of electrodes in a vacuum chamber, in initiating vacuum electric discharge between the electrodes by creating potential difference, in actuating external surface of a target with plasma of discharge at superposition of magnetic field crossed with electric one on the zone of discharge and in sedimentation of coating material on internal surface of the pipe. A treated pipe is used as one of the electrodes, while the target placed inside the pipe is used as the second electrode, also its length is not less than length of treated surface. Also magnetic field is generated along whole length of the target by transmitting electric current through the target or through the target and the conductor located in a cavity made in the target.
EFFECT: facilitating uniform coating on internal surface of long-length pipe of small diametre.
