FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device has a substrate inside an evacuated housing with a transparent window on which there is a cell array with deformable membranes formed by a mirror thin-film layer which coincides with the surface of the substrate through its bottom surface, where there is no adhesion between separate parts of the surface, and the outer surface of the said layer repeats the surface of the substrate. The material of the layer has a positive coefficient of thermal expansion. Also the membrane layer is made from conducting material and partially absorbs optical radiation.

EFFECT: design of a microoptical device which can function as an optical valve for non-monochromatic non-polarised radiation which is controlled by an electrical or optical signal, and a device for data optical processing with possible fast operation of up to a nanosecond.
