The said search mediator also has several search interfaces for interaction with different search functions and at least one a memory interface for interaction with memory. The memory stores at least application-specific search profiles for use by the search mediator when responding to a received search query and/or providing search results. The search mediator provides selection of a search function from different search functions and the direction of the received search query in the selected search function.
