FIELD: motor industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to element for suppression of hydrogen sulfide production in exhaust gas of automobile or similar vehicle, and to catalyst for treatment of exhaust gases, with application of element for suppression of H2S. This invention describes element, which contains part that absorbs SOx, including at least cerium oxide and located on upper side relative to exhaust gas flow direction; and part that releases SOx, including titanium oxide and having surface acidity higher than surface acidity of part that adsorbs SOx. Part that adsorbs SOx is applied onto honeycomb substrate that produces covering layer. Catalyst that treats exhaust gas contains part, adsorbing SOx, part, releasing SOx and noble metal applied onto element that suppresses generation of hydrogen sulfide.
EFFECT: suppression of H2S production without application of substances that pollute environment.
