FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to NOx adsorbing catalyst containing a composition comprising a neodymium-containing component, to a method for creating a neodymium-containing component, as well as to exhaust systems for engines running on lean mixtures that contain such NOx adsorbing catalyst. An exhaust purification system for treating the exhaust gas flow comprises a diesel engine and a NOx adsorbing catalyst; in which the diesel engine is in fluid communication with NOx adsorbing catalyst. The specified NOx adsorbing catalyst comprises a first layer comprising a composition containing: a substrate material; one or more platinum group metals located on this substrate material; and a NOx accumulating material in which the substrate material contains alumina or a mixed oxide containing alumina; one or more platinum group metals contain a mixture or alloy of platinum and palladium; the NOx accumulating material contains neodymium-doped cerium oxide.
EFFECT: improvement in the exhaust gas purification system due to the use of a NOx adsorbing catalyst with improved characteristics of low-temperature NOx accumulation, improved properties of NOx release and desulfation.
