FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to roller mill industry, particularly to work roll chucks fixed in axial direction in four roller frames of sheet mills with roller supports on rolling bearings. Chuck includes four-line tapered roller bearing covered with caps attached to the chuck ends by pins. Power metering sensors are mounted along the pin circle at diametrally opposite points and connected by shielded cable over multichannel connector to terminal box attached at the roller frame base. Signals from sensors are transmitted from terminal box over amplifier to receiver where they are transformed into values of axial stress affecting bearing of forming roll chuck fixed in axial direction, both at roll driving and roll changing sides.
EFFECT: invention prevents machine emergency situations related to destruction of work roll bearings, reduced consumption of rolls and bearings.
