FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to glass fibre reinforcement. The glass fibre contains the following components, in wt %: SiO2 - 58-63; Al2O3 - 10-16; CaO - 16-less than 23; MgO - 0.5- less than 3.5; Na2O+K2O+Li2O - 0-2; TiO2- more than 1 - less than 1.5; B2O3 - 0-1.5; Li2O - 0-0.4; ZnO - 0-0.4; MnO - 0-1; F - 0-0.5; CoO - from 10 to 100 mln.d. Cobalt oxide is added to the fibre in order to remove yellowness caused by presence of titanium oxide in the fibre.
EFFECT: higher mechanical strength, resistance to an acidic mediuim and high temperatures, as well as lower cost of the fibre and reduced hazardous emissions into the environment.
