FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition intended for producing glass fibre. Composition contains the following components, wt. %: 57.5–61 SiO₂; 12–17 Al₂O₃; 20–25 CaO; 0.3–3.9 MgO; 0.6–1.1 Na₂O+K₂O; 0.1–1.5 TiO₂ and 0.1–1 iron (II) oxide (in terms of FeO) and iron (III) oxide. Weight percentage ratio C₁ = FeO/(iron oxides - FeO) is 1.25 or more. Total content of said components is more than 97 %.

EFFECT: invention increases tensile strength of the composition.
