FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy, particularly to chemical and thermal processing of metals and alloys. Method involves item saturation in powder mix containing boron carbide, ammonia chloride and copper-containing component. Saturation is performed at 600-1200°C in fluidised layer in powder mix containing additionally aluminium fluoride and corundum, and copper oxide as copper-containing component, at the following component ratio, wt %: boron carbide 5-35, silicon 1-20, copper oxide 0.05-2, ammonia chloride 0.05-1, aluminium fluoride 0.1-0.5, corundum 41.5-93.8. Before saturation, items are heated to 450-550°C in fluidised layer in ammonia medium, matured for 15-25 minutes, gas products are evacuated, and items are cooled down after saturation. Improvement of steel surface finish is achieved along with boron silicon coating intensification.
EFFECT: enhanced wear, heat and corrosion resistance of machine parts for metallurgy, aircraft manufacturing, chemical industry, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering and other industries.
