FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for cleaning of waste gases (WG) of internal combustion engines (ICE) with ignition due to compression. Catalytic converter includes housing with outer and inner sides, heat insulation between them, transverse and longitudinal partitions, porous permeable metal-ceramic catalytic (PPMC) units, inlet and outlet connection pipes, and gas-distributing mechanism. The latter has external fixed pipe with opening and internal movable pipe with openings; at that, openings in internal pipe are made so that they can coincide with openings in external pipe by means of rotary lever rigidly attached to internal pipe. Inner cavity of housing is divided with longitudinal partitions at least into three sectors. PPMC units are installed in each sector in blind and through openings of transverse partitions dividing each sector. Gas-distributing mechanism is located on end wall of housing from the side of inlet connection pipe and equipped with gas branches as per the number of sectors.
EFFECT: protection of units against contamination with coking products in low load conditions, and increasing cleaning degree.
