MULTICYCLONE GAS CONVERTER Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC F01N3/02 

FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for cleaning exhaust gases of compression ignition engines. Proposed converter has housing with face cover, inlet and outlet branch pipes, reactor divided by porous permeable cermet oxidizing and reducing catalytic units and partitions into separate spaces with stage for cleaning exhaust gases from solid particles. Multicyclone is used for cleaning exhaust gases from solid particles. Lower parts of cyclones of multicyclone are made in form of cones with holes pointed into space for gathering solid particles. Cyclones are furnished with inlet tangential ports and guides for gases cleaned from solid particles. One half of porous permeable cermet oxidizing and reducing catalytic units in connected through spaces with spaces of separate cyclones of multicyclone and is closed by blind sections of partition from side of outlet branch pipe. Other half of porous permeable cermet oxidizing and reducing catalytic units is closed by blind partition installed at inlet branch pipe into which separate cyclones are built and is connected through spaces with holes in partition from side of outlet branch pipe.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of gas cleaning.
