FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed catalyst converter contains housing with outer steel and inner ceramet walls installed with clearance servicing as heat insulation, end face covers, intake and outlet branch pipes, soot filter coaxial with series-mounted porous ceramet oxidizing and reducing catalytic units, cross partition and tubular device to bypass exhaust gases. Device to bypass exhaust gases is made across housing, being built into cross partition provided with through holes, in form of outer fixed and inner turnable tubes, each provided with ports pointed to different sides relative to partition. Inner tube has blind partition dividing exhaust gas bypass device into intake and exhaust parts.
EFFECT: improved convenience in operation, provision of automation of cleaning of exhaust gases by reverse flow.
