FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method for determining crack of sleeve of car-and-tractor engine consists in pneumatic determination of through defects. When determining the latter, cover of expansion tank of engine cooling system is removed, and cooling liquid is inspected. Available bubbles and boiling of cooling liquid means that one of sleeves has a crack. Atomiser of one of cylinders is removed. Engine rpm speed is set within nominal to maximum. Available bubbles and boiling of cooling liquid means that the controlled sleeve has no crack. No bubbles and boiling means that the controlled sleeve has a crack.
EFFECT: determination of cracks available in sleeves of engine cylinders and determination of a certain sleeve which has a crack.
