FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device comprises system of lights and lights control system provided with input registration elements, as well as computer-aided quantitative assessment system. It is possible to determine actual amount of transport facilities on given section for whatever time interval to compare said amount with tolerable value, to correct traffic by automatic feed of data to appropriate lights. It is possible to determine actual amount of transport facilities on given section for whatever time interval to compare said amount with tolerable value, to correct traffic by automatic feed of data to appropriate lights with due allowance for the following factors: section length, width of road, state and quality of road covering, permitted speed, intervals between vehicles and braking distance. Traffic control on given section is effected by both allowing for time-varying factors influencing tolerable safe speed, intervals and braking distance at given time interval and depending upon weather factors: glase ice, humid road covering, fog and night time. Time-dependent factors are allowed for by the program that controls traffic on said section and corrects light operation at given time interval.
EFFECT: improved traffic control that allows ruling out jams on roads.
