FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention belongs to medicine, notably to ophthalmic surgery, and can be applied to surgical treatment of idiopathic macular ruptures of retina. Surgery begins with vitrectomy, which includes ectomy of posterior hyaloid membrane and internal limiting membrane of retina with gas tamponade of vitreous cavity, which is performed by exchange of previously injected irrigative solution for gas with active aspiration of solution. Before gas tamponade rupture edges must be brought together to cover defect maximally and block it. Solution must be actively aspirated until diametre of its remaining layer becomes twice - thrice as large as macula's diametre. Then pressure of gas supplied must be reduced and passive aspiration through cannula with inserted silicone tube starts. The tube protrudes from distal end of cannula, end of tube must have 4-6 incisions which form petals. Cannula's distal end must be fixed over macular rupture, aspiration must be performed with light touches of petals to solution surface, making sure rupture edges are pulled together and cannula is not clogged. When aspiration is over defect must be blocked with application of biogenic glue on area of rupture.

EFFECT: method allows developing of atraumatic and effective technology for surgical treatment of retina's macular ruptures; it provides improvement and stabilisation of visual function.
