FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to test equipment and can be used to pinpoint fluid leaks from tanks. Proposed method comprises measuring and recording fluid bleeding rate per unit time for particular tank, fluid flowing out along tank outer wall. Tank inner wall is scanned by plug. Decrease in fluid bleeding rate is recorded for leakage point to be pinpointed. Proposed device comprises plug bearing against tank inner surface. Said plug comprises drive for it to move along said inner surface and is connected, via data transfer line, with bleeding rate variation recorder and control board.
EFFECT: expanded operating performances, higher accuracy of pinpointing leaks.
