SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to nervous system diseases. Dominant hemisphere is determined. For determination of acute dyshemia zone in dominant hemisphere and multiple character of cerebral structure lesion with asymmenric areas both in basal and in subcortical areas of both cerebral hemispheres, total cognitive index (TCI) is calculated by formula: TCI=(SFWr+SFWl+PHWr+PHWl+LVBWr+LVBWl)/R, where SFWr is maximum width of right Sylvian fissure, mm; SFWl is maximum width of left Sylvian fissure, mm; PHWr is width of posterior horn of right lateral brain ventricle, mm; PHWl is width of posterior horn of left lateral brain ventricle, mm; LVBWr is width of right lateral ventricle body, mm; LVBWl is width of left lateral ventricle body, mm; R is maximum distance between inner tables of scull, mm; and with TCI of 0.44 or higher, post-apoplectic dementia development is forecast.

EFFECT: extended range of post-apoplectic dementia development forecast means.
