SUBSTANCE: invention refers to fire fighting equipment, namely to total flooding, and can be used for suppression of fire hazards in the closed spaced. A pyrotechnic aerosol-forming compound for total flooding contains potassium nitrate - an oxidiser, binding fuel - iditol reduced by ethanol, and a gas generating substance - dicyandiamide, and iditol is reduced by ethanol in the mass ratio 1: (0.2-0.3), and components are taken in the ratio, wt %: potassium nitrate 70-76; iditol 7-14; dicyandiamide 13-20.

EFFECT: preparation of the more producible compound; optimised mass ratio of the components; lower concentration of hazardous substances; higher efficiency of fire extinguishing in the closed spaces; better ecological compatibility of an extinguishing mixture generated in burning.
