FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: grains are previously soaked with water at the temperature of 20°C for 10-20 minutes, separated serially in solutions of saccharose with concentration of 50%-90% into fractions. Grain fractions drowned in solutions are washed each separately in water and maintained in water in thermostat at the temperature of 40-50°C for 4 hours. Then repeated separation is carried out in saccharose solutions, returning back each fraction of grains into saccharose solution with corresponding concentration, floating fractions of grains are separated and combined, then washed, dried on air and used in selection process as having highest content of protein.
EFFECT: reduction of time required for detection of protein in barley grain and provision of possibility for individual selection of barley for content of protein in grain and preservation of seeds germinating ability after their assessment for content of protein.
