FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry and can be used in producing hydrogen. The hydroreactive composition for producing hydrogen contains aluminium and an activating alloy from the following metals: gallium, indium, tin and zinc in the following ratio of components, wt %: indium 10-40, tin 1-40, zinc 1-20, gallium - the rest. Aluminium and the activating alloy are in the composition in the following ratio, wt %: activating alloy 1-10, aluminium - the rest. In order to prepare the hydroreactive composition, an activating alloy is obtained first from the following metals: gallium, indium, tin and zinc and the obtained alloy is mixed with aluminium in an inert atmosphere. The obtained mixture undergoes mechanochemical treatment at 20-80°C for 1-5 minutes, mainly in a planetary ball mill.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a hydroreactive composition which provides high rate of releasing hydrogen when reacted with water.
