FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method of producing thiophene glycosidic derivatives of general formula (I) 
where Y is H or alkyl, R1 is alkyl which is possibly substituted with fluorine, aryl or heteroaryl; and R2 is hydrogen. The said derivatives are useful in treating diabetes types 1 and 2.
EFFECT: method is distinguished by high product output, easy extraction of the product, as well as avoiding use of toxic or smelling substances.
