FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of positioning a sensor (9) in a cellular element (1), having, at least partially, flow cavities (3) for exhaust gases (EG), involves positioning the sensor (9) in a cellular element (1) on its section on which, during operation of the cellular element (1) in the exhaust gas outlet system fitted on the vehicle, concentration of hydrogen (c) reaches maximum value (10, 11). The advantage of the proposed method of positioning the sensor (9) lies in possibility of positioning the sensor in a cellular element (1) on a position along its length where systematic errors in measurement results from the sensor caused by cross sensitivity of the sensor (9) to concentration of hydrogen is kept on a minimum possible level.
EFFECT: use of the invention provides more accurate measurement results with minimum possible systematic errors.
