FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to casting process. The casting mould consists of gating system with a gate end and an orifice for gas outlet, and of a combustible wooden component installed in the gate end. The wooden component has a shape of a pyramid, top of which is indented into a side upper part of the gate end with a bias to its axis.
EFFECT: reduced occurrence of gas holes in cast and upgraded quality of casting.
