UNIPOLAR DC MACHINE WITH ELECTROCONDUCTING BELTS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H02K31/04 H02K21/36

Abstract RU 2395888 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: prototype of invented UM is ordinary unipolar DC machine with disk rotor. Named unipolar DC machine has some drawbacks, including availability of brush sliding contacts in its structure and relatively low working voltage. In proposed structure of UM there are no sliding mechanical-electrical and peripheral liquid electric contacts. As peripheral electric contacts, proposed UM applies electroconductive belts, which girdle two disks of anchor each, rotating in the same direction in their magnetic fields, and via specified belts and electroconductive parts of rotation axes they are serially connected into winding of anchor, which via two current-conducting parts of extreme axis of rotation submerged into reservoirs with electroconductive liquid is connected to source of DC voltage. At the same time there is practically no friction between named parts of axis of rotation and this liquid. There is also no sliding between surfaces of edges in electroconductive disks and belts, which makes it possible not to only eliminate listed drawbacks available in existing UM, but to also relatively easily increase working voltage to required value.

EFFECT: improved electrical-mechanical characteristics, increased reliability in operation, better wear resistance, simplified design, increase of working voltage several times and expanded field of its application.
