FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: analogue of the proposed unipolar machine (UM) is common direct current UM with cylindrical rotor, which has a number of disadvantages, including sliding brush contacts and relatively low operating voltage. In the proposed UM construction there are no traditional, both sliding mechanical-electrical, and peripheral liquid electric contacts. As electric contacts in the proposed UM there used are electrically conducting rolling contacts and fixed cylindrical casings to which electrical conductors are soldered. Such construction of electric contacts without special complexity allows electric in-series bringing of all their active parts into armature winding circuit, which allows considerable increase in operating voltage. At that, rolling friction between electrically conducting rollers and fixed cylindrical casings, as well as between active parts of armature windings is less by several orders than sliding friction between sliding brush contacts and contact rings.
EFFECT: improving electromechanical characteristics, improving operating reliability, increasing wear resistance, simplifying the design, increasing operating voltage by several times and enlarging the area of its application.
