MULTIDISC UNIPOLAR MACHINE WITH LIQUID CURRENT COLLECTION Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC H02K31/04 H02K21/36

Abstract RU 2501151 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: unipolar DC machines are equipped with liquid contacts instead of brush ones. Multidisc unipolar machine with liquid current collection contains stator and rotor divided by air gaps, and it is made in the form of disc rotors connected in-series and installed at common rotation shaft. At that according to invention several fixed hollow cylindrical magnets serve as stator while disc-shaped magnet cores with protrusions and holes in the middle parts serve as continuation of magnet poles; magnet cores which butt ends are placed symmetrically at both sides of movable and electrically connected discs which sharp edges are submerged partially into electrically conducting liquids poured to lower parts of stator cavities while their centres are connected pair-by-pair by electric conducting hollow cylinders secured on rotation shaft with insulation; at that medium hollow permanent magnets are interconnected in pairs by electric wires and the outermost cylinders are connected to positive and negative terminals respectively of its electric output. In the suggested unipolar machine cascade connection of required number of discs to electric circuit of the machine is ensured easily to reach rated operating voltage without increase of their angular rates.

EFFECT: improving durability of unipolar DC machines and their operating voltage without increase of rotor angular rate thus extending scope of application for unipolar direct-current machines respectively.
