FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ultrasonic location level gauges of liquid and loose products in tanks at petrol stations and oil tank farms, as well as in chemical, oil, food and other branches of national economy. Device includes ultrasonic pulse generator connected to radiator, and in-series connected receiver, amplifier, threshold device, time interval forming unit, control and indication unit the output of which is connected to generator and input of the time interval forming unit. At that, reference supply source is connected to threshold device. Analogue-to-digital converter, address forming unit and random access memory are connected in series. Analogue-to-digital converter is connected to amplifier output and to data input of random access memory. Control and indication unit is connected to address forming unit so that there can be released the permission or prohibition of autonomous operation of address forming unit, and to output of random access memory.

EFFECT: providing measurement error compensation of ultrasonic level gauge, which is determined by available uncontrollable time interval between the beginning of echo pulse and activation of threshold device, as well as increasing measurement stability.
