FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for absorbing microwave energy in sections of waveguides with built-in solid absorbent inserts. The absorbent inserts are put into 2N extra waveguide short-circuited sections lying at a distance of λg/4 from each other and perpendicular to the main waveguide on its wide walls on N on the upper and lower sides. The upper extra short-circuited sections are turned towards one side and the lower sections are turned towards the other side relative the longitudinal axis of the main waveguide by the same angle.
EFFECT: high level of electrical strength of the waveguide load.
