FIELD: electric engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to SHF equipment. Waveguide load consists of short-circuited section of rectangular waveguide with absorbing insert installed in it and divided into sections by means of current conducting partitions installed parallel to the wide wall of rectangular waveguide section and having thermal contact with it. In waveguide load absorbing insert and current-conducting partitions are arranged with cuts that are symmetrical in relation to the plane that passes through middle lines of wide walls of rectangular waveguide section. Depth of cuts is equal to (0.25±0.1)λwg, where λwg - length of wave in waveguide filled with absorbing insert. Width of cuts is selected based on condition of equality of electromagnet waves amplitudes, which are reflected from the ends of absorbing insert sections and current-conducting partitions and ends of cuts in them. Edge of every section of absorbing insert that is opposite to direction of electromagnet wave distribution has steps, length of every of which is equal to (0.25±0.1)λwg. Edges of all sections or some sections of absorbing insert that are opposite to direction of electromagnet wave distribution are arranged as L-shaped.
EFFECT: increase of permissible level of scattered power and increase of electric strength.
