METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF FAILURE IN PATIENTS WITH VIRAL AND ALCOHOLIC HEATOCIRRHOSIS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2381748 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gastroenterology, and aims at prediction of failure in the patients with viral and alcoholic hepatocirrhosis. The peak hepatic artery blood velocity UpeakHA (cm/sec) and volume blood velocity in superior mesenteric artery UvlSMA (ml/min) are evaluated by the Doppler ultrasonography. If the UpeakHA≥103 cm/sec, probable fatal outcome is predicted within 6 months; the UpeakHA≥103 cm/sec and UvlSMA>395 ml/min show probable lethal outcome within 18 months; while the UpeakHA>95 cm/sec and UvlSMA>340 ml/min indicate probability of lethal outcome within 24 months.

EFFECT: method is noninvasive and provides sufficient prognostic accuracy of prediction of failure in viral and alcoholic hepatocirrhosis.
