SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to ophthalmology. The invention discovers the use of cross-linked hyaluronic acid or its derivative as a viscoelastic medium and a method of treating ocular hypertension in human or animal involving the stages of formation of at least one sclera-penetrating fistula and (ii) introduction of said viscoelastic medium into at least one fistula so that the fistula is filled with said viscoelastic medium.
EFFECT: invention provides a prompt method of unremarkable penetrating sclerectomy with ensured persistent relief of ocular hypertension.
