FIELD: construction tools.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns press pliers (1) for crimping, in particular a crimp connection, of workpieces (W), having two opposite press sponges (6, 7) and two clamps (2, 3) of pliers, while one clamp (2) of pliers is stationary, and corresponding press sponge (6) is fixed on this stationary clamp (2) of pliers by means of springing retaining part (23), wherein this retaining part (23), at its end facing away from press sponge (6), is rigidly connected to clamp (2) of pliers. To improve press pliers, in particular, relatively to compensation of force and movement, it is proposed that, between fixed connection (27) and the end of retaining part (23), facing first press sponge (6), thrust connection (25) is made between stationary clamp (2) of pliers and retaining part (23), which shows its effect, when exceeding some predetermined compressive force.
