FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for solid fuel combustion includes charging fuel into reactor, supplying gasifying agent into it, and, if required, additives that reduce emission of hazardous substances, withdrawal of solid and gaseous products of drying, pyrolysis and combustion from reactor, and maintenance of maximum temperature in reactor within the limits of 700-1400°C by controlling flow rates of combustible, incombustible and oxidising components. Gasifying agent is supplied into reactor in two parts, besides its first part containing free oxygen is used to blow active surface of fuel mass at the side of reactor wall, and the second part containing substances of non-oxidant nature is supplied to active surface inside fuel mass. For this purpose pressure gradient is created in volume of fuel mass, which is directed from its active surface to area where the second part of gasifying agent is supplied. Partial flow rate of each part of gasifying agent is adjusted so that temperature of active surface of fuel mass makes 700-900°C, and balanced temperature of gas phase in reactor is within 1200-1400°C. Products of drying, pyrolysis and combustion are withdrawn from reactor to afterburning chamber through narrow channel along active surface of fuel mass.
EFFECT: reduced heat losses to environment, maximum usage of thermal energy to initiate processes of drying and pyrolysis on surface of fuel mass, elimination of durable stay of wastes in high-temperature zone depleted with oxidant, and reduced emission of heavy products of pyrolysis.
