FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates can be used in steam reforming reaction. Proposed reactor perforated catalyst layer support plate arranged inside catalyst shell. Said catalyst support layer is supported by multiple oblong support elements supported by tube plate whereto top ends of said oblong support elements are secured. Catalyst particles in catalyst layer are located outside said oblong support elements. Catalyst support plate is secured to lower ends of oblong support elements and divided into multiple perforated segments. Every perforated segment of support plate is supported by oblong support element or, optionally, secured to catalyst shell wall.
EFFECT: lower axial heat strain in inside reactor components.
