SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalytic chemical reactor with a gas permeable wall and a method of making a gas permeable wall. Reactor comprises catalyst layer, gas permeable wall representing assembly of several panels extending over angular sector of permeable wall, and having first sectors resting against support wall adjacent to gas permeable wall and made cylindrical or substantially cylindrical, and second sectors located spaced from support wall and having gas passages, wherein first and second sectors alternate along circumferential length with permeable wall, and the panels, being fixed together and attached to the support wall, form a single wall element confining the catalyst layer, and means for local attachment of the gas-permeable wall to the support wall, comprising several supports, rigidly attached to support wall and passing through corresponding holes in first sectors of gas permeable wall, as well as several corresponding fixing elements, which can be connected to supports, and panels of gas permeable wall are clamped between support wall and fixing elements. At that gas permeable wall can act as gas distributor or collector-gas collector relative to catalyst bed.
EFFECT: invention provides for prevention of gas permeable wall panels bending and facilitation of assembly, distribution of stress created by catalyst weight, maximum along central line between two support points, and minimally on support points themselves, as well as settling during assembly and compensation of difference of thermal expansion of support wall and gas permeable wall.
