FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction materials and specifically to production of porous aggregates for light concrete and heat insulation backfilling. The crude mixture for preparing porous aggregate contains the following in wt %: pit-run diatomite 76.5-84.5, sodium hydroxide in terms of Na2O 6-15, colophony 0.5, dry or burnt diatomite powder 5-10.
EFFECT: low average packed density, shorter preparation time and lower temperature for preparing the porous aggregate which therefore lowers cost price.
