FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: gamma imaging device has a gamma camera with a field of view, a gamma-spectrometric detector collimated by a collimator which has a field of view around an axis and entering the field of view of the gamma camera at a given distance; a laser pointer with a line of sight, where the said laser pointer is placed near the gamma-spectrometric collimator such that the line of sight is parallel the axis of the field of view of the collimator and crosses the field of view of the collimator; apparatus for detecting the zone on which the laser pointer is directed. The gamma camera is a pinhole camera or a coding mask camera. Said device realises the corresponding gamma imaging method.

EFFECT: invention enables simultaneous quantitative determination of the radiation dose in space and quantitative assessment of radioactive elements with measurement of their spectra, with provision for accurate superposition of results of corresponding measurements on each other.
